The prominent linguists from South and North Korea have celebrated the launch of Joint Compilation Committee at Mt. Geumgang in North Korea on the 20th of February, 2005. Drawing big attention from domestic and overseas, the project would greatly contribute to unity and reunification of two Koreas in line with historic June 15th South-North Korean Joint Declaration.

1. The linguists from both Koreas have agreed to jointly compile the unabridged Korean language dictionary that will embrace our rich heritage of spoken and written words in order to advance unique characteristics of our language and to prepare for the need of reunification.

2. This joint dictionary of Korean language is named as Gyeoremal-keunsajeon. The Joint Compilation Committee will be composed of linguists and experts from both Koreas. The actual project will shall begin promptly from the February of 2005 and will be completed with no delay.

3. The linguists from both Koreas shall select the places for regular meetings via consensus and meet every three months to discuss all the related matters regarding dictionary compilation.
